At the meeting, Indonesia pointed out the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on employees working in the tourism industry, especially female workers. In a statement, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry affirmed that the country pays great attention to the global tourism development agenda, especially the recovery of tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bali is one of the tourist centers of Southeast Asia and was once the richest province in Indonesia, but has suffered heavy damage because of the Covid-19 epidemic. The Indonesian government is trying to turn this tourist island province into a "leading" to revive the tourism industry of "the land of ten thousand islands".
World Tourism Day is an annual event held on September 27 to raise awareness of the international community about the importance of tourism for the economy, culture and society. With the theme "Rethinking the tourism industry", World Tourism Day 2022 in Bali will be an opportunity for policymakers and the tourism industry to review the progress made after the pandemic, and find ways to help the world tourism industry recover better, ensuring development in the right direction with the sustainable development agenda until 2030./.
